The Return to my Origins, Mom Visits Zacatecas

Soy un pobre venadito que habita en la serrania!

As most of you know we are considering a plan to take mom back to her origins, Zacatecas.

Updates: Please visit here for updated information and also you can comment at the bottom of this event. Despite the date on event, the actual date has not been set. Zacatecas is one location targeted along with possibly Guanajuato and Aguascalientes with emphasis on Villa Hidalgo, the birthplace of Mom.

We will also try to touch base with some potential relatives of the late abuelito Alejo in Zacatecas.

This will be the launching pad of the trip. It will probably take place in the late part of June or sometime in July. It will probably last for about a week.

We have not worked out all the details, but it's certainly happenning. The details will depend on the "who's" and will need a solid commitment as time gets closer.

So RSVP if you will "attend" "might attend" or "not attend," you can always change your RSVP at anytime.

This is a series of celebrations for mom leading to her 80 year birthday in September.

I know, we understand. Well Carlos had to pull out, he was called out an emergency and has to travel out of the country. My mom was vey dissapointed, but things like this do happen. So it's me, Mom, Perico and Jami. I guess we will depart Friday and go from there.

Later I will post a link to a map that will update our location every ten minutes.
Everyone is excited but a little concern with all the problems goign on in Mexico right now. I will open up a blog post later on tonight.

Well i would have loved to go but not only is money short whoch is no excuse but I also have other things going on that I add up to more expences and also I have not been able to get my pass port. So you guys go and have a great time and be safe. Love all you guys.

Well, I am trying to keep this trip together and deal with some last minutes changes that have not been easy. I posted this event in January hoping people that were interested would make solid plans, but other than a couple of people, we got no real interest. at the last minute, I few suggested I cancel it due to scheduling problems, but I am not, because if I don't do it now, it will never happen, and I am determines to make it happen. This event is not about me or anyone else, but about mom. People quickly forget that.

So we have the last changes made and the plan is set. We are not moving on the new date anyome, as people had to change their schedule at work, flights were cancelled (losing money) and making new reservation at higher cost due to short notice, etc, etc, etc,,,,,.

So, the new dates are from the 3rd of July and getting back the 12th of July.
Attending we have Mom, me, Carlos, Perico, Dante and Jami (ones who expressed a serious interest). This is the final decision and all is set.

Not much feedback has been generated for this trip. I have listed the dates so some of us can plan ahead of time. Looks like a departure date of July 10th. If anyone is serious of attending who has a conflict with date, let us know.

Yes! Let's do it. Como la situación económica (o el trabajo) puede impedir que no toda la familia vaya, voy a tratar de averiguar cual seria la forma de hacerlo, el tiempo, los lugares, etc. Voy a ir haciendo unas recomendaciones en pocos días...
